Three important uses of vibrating tables

There are many different types of vibrating tables, but all of them take the form of a surface that is shaken by a vibrator. They have many different uses in the industry. Here are some of the tasks for which a vibrating table will be essential.

Packaging

One widespread use of vibrating tables is to fill packaging. Any substances that need to settle when they fill a container will benefit from being shaken by a vibrating table. This includes foodstuffs and animal feeds, powders, building materials such as sand or aggregate, and medications. Any kind of container can be used, such as sacks, drums, boxes or bins. The table will vibrate as the containers are filling up, which allows the contents to settle while they are being poured in. This means that much more of the product can be included in the packaging, which can lead to sizeable efficiency savings.

Concrete

A second use of vibrating tables is to fill moulds with concrete mix prior to setting. The mould will need to be lined with a concrete release oil to ensure that the finished product can be easily removed. The concrete is then poured slowly into one section of the mould. The shaking action of the table will then spread the concrete evenly around the rest of the mould. It will also shake any air bubbles out of the mix, causing them to rise to the surface and escape. The result is a much smoother concrete mix that does not contain air bubbles and so sets into the correct shape without any flaws.

Vehicles

Lastly, much larger vibrating tables are used in the automotive industry. Vehicles need to be able to withstand vibrations and other forces and need to be tested to ensure that they are strong enough. This can be done by placing the vehicle (or other mechanical parts if they are being tested separately) on a vibrating table and then providing the required vibration. The vehicle can then be inspected to ensure that it has not suffered any damage from the shaking. This is an important part of the safety testing of cars and other types of vehicles and is also used in the defence industry.

Vibrating tables are useful whenever any kind of vibrating force is needed to act upon a product. Just talk to a supplier today to find out if a vibrating table would benefit your business.
